Flood

When it rains, it pours. And sometimes floods.

Certain areas are more likely to flood than others-low-lying areas and those near the coast or rivers-but flood damage can happen almost anywhere. If you live in higher flood-risk areas and have a mortgage, federal law may require you to carry flood insurance. Even if you're not legally required to have flood insurance, it's nice to know your finances won't be carried away by the current.

Flood insurance covers the structure of your home and your personal property; however, regular water damage and flood damage can be separate, so be sure to talk to a Luster agent today to make sure you're properly insured for the various kinds of water-related damage.

Most flood insurance policies require a 30-day waiting period before the coverage is effective. Exceptions are only made for a few specific circumstances such as if you've purchased a new home and the closing is in less than 30 days.
